Keynote: Fredrik Alfredsson
Fredrik Alfredsson, Director of Security and Head of Security Protection for the City of Stockholm, will be attending our exhibition and talking about the city’s work on civil emergency preparedness.
Stockholm is Sweden’s largest municipality, with around one million inhabitants, and has a comprehensive emergency response organisation structured into sectors in which committees and companies work together. The city also has a crisis and wartime organisation in all 47 committees and companies.
The work includes, amongst other things, risk and vulnerability analyses, training, drills and collaboration with other organisations. Given the size of the city, measures must always be weighed against available capacity in terms of time, scale and financial resources.
One example is the decision to stock food supplies for five days in over 140 primary schools, which required careful planning so as not to affect suppliers’ capacity or other important needs.
